Alnwick Heritage

Alnwick and the surrounding area is rich in history and heritage, which, together, create the “sense of place” that is important to many residents and visitors. The Alnwick Heritage website aims to:

  • bring together records, research and stories that tell us how the town and its immediate environs developed through the centuries,
  • provide space to record the story of every historic building in Alnwick,
  • highlight issues that affect the way that heritage is protected,
  • help people get involved in heritage issues.

Building upon the work done in 2021 to produce the Historical Maps of Alnwick & Alnmouth, it is hoped that this website will provide both a research resource and a means of individuals engaging in the regions’ heritage.

This is very much a ‘work in progress’ project and we need as much help as we can get. Scroll down to find out more.
